Route Changes Due To Severe Winter Weather
Because of the excessive amount of snow fall and the extreme cold weather, we have been experiencing some delays in route pick-ups. We will do our best to pick up as scheduled but if you are missed, please leave your containers out and we will pick up the next day. If we don't make it back the next day. We will pick up on your scheduled day the following week. Please be patient with us during this cold season as we are doing our best to keep up. Please make sure that Snow and ice are cleared away from your containers. If it is not, this will delay your pick up. If you have questions, please call Artistic at 515-262-4040.

As Artistic continues to find ways to improve the planet. In doing so, we have adopted a Zero Waste Concept… What Is Zero Waste?

 Zero Waste is a nationally recognizant protocol that focus’s on reuse not disposal of our waste stream. Instead of seeing used materials as garbage Zero Waste looks at trash as valuable resources. A pile of trash represents jobs, financial opportunity and raw materials for new products.

 Why is Zero Waste Important?

 The State of Iowa and Central Iowa are net importers of trash.  This means we landfill more waste then we generate.  Why?  Landfills have made it to easy to throw away our trash because they generate funding by increasing the amount of material they bury.  The State of Iowa no longer has a waste reduction goal.  Without a baseline number how can we realistically reduce this wasteful trend?

 Zero Waste is a Goal!

The system of consumption and wasting that drives our demand for raw materials creates unsustainable demand on natural resources. Land filling waste only creates a new environmental hazarded that future generations will have to mitigate. Zero Waste puts the responsibility for materials entering the waste stream on the front end with the manufacturer, not on the consumer, at the back-end of the products life. The end result is that Manufacturers redesign products to reduce material consumption and facilitate reuse, recycling and recovery!
