Welcome to the City of Runnells your Curb It! recycling is collected on Wednesday within city limits and surrounding rural area.

Rural Runnells residents are provided subscription trash collection upon request. Commercial and Rolloff services are also available upon request. Your day of service is Wednesday. To avoid missed pick-ups all recycling should be at the curb by 6:00 AM.

Remember to stop litter in your neighborhood by bagging all your trash before placing it in your Toter or trashcan.

Bag Tags and Large Sticker Items
Bag Tags and Large Item Stickesr are for sale At all Dahls and Hy-Vee customers services centers or at City Hall and Artistic Waste Services, Inc. corporate headquarters.

Bag Tags are for:

Extra Trash Pick Up Tags are for the following: One tag per waste bag Place the tag around the neck of the bag Maximum weight: 30 Pounds Maximum size: 30 Gallons

Appliance or White Goods Disposal

These items are considered appliances: refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, dehumidifiers, microwaves, freezers, water heaters, furnaces, dishwashers, and air-conditioners. They contain CFCs and PCBs and can be damaged when not properly handled. It will take 7 Large Item Stickers to have an appliance picked up and must be called in to set up a collection time. 262-4040

Large items Pick-Up

Examples of large items are pieces of furniture or other residential waste materials with a weight or volume greater than that normally allowed for bags or containers and small amounts of construction of construction debris and building waste materials. Carpet and construction materials should be cut and tied in 4'-5' sections not to exceed 50 pounds in weight. Bag tags and Large sticker items are picked up the same day as your trash. They are for sale at all Dahls and Hy-Vee customers services centers or at City Hall and Artistic Waste Services, Inc. corporate headquarters.

To exchange the cart you have now for a different cart, you may bring the old cart to Artistic Waste Services at 1817 W. Euclid Ave., in Des Moines. If you pick up the cart, there is no charge for the exchange. If you choose to have Artistic deliver your new cart to you, there will be a $25 charge for each trip.

If you are moving to a newly-built home in Clive, a cart will be delivered to you at no cost.

When you move within or away from Clive, leave the cart behind. Any missing or lost carts will be charged to the residents and/or property owners.

Each property is given one cart. Any lost or stolen carts will be charged to the current resident and/or property owner.

If you need to make arrangements for receiving an additional cart or for repair or replacement of your current cart, contact Artistic Waste Services, Inc. at 262-4040.

Memorial Day Collection Changes
NO Collection on Monday May 31st, 2010 (Memorial Day).
All residential and recycling routes will run one day behind schedule.
Monday's route will be collected on Tuesday.
Tuesday's route will be collected on Wednesday.
Wednesday's route will be collected on Thursday.
Thursday's route will be collected on Friday.
Friday's route will be collected on Saturday.

Because the holiday falls on a Sunday, there will be no collection changes that week.

About Artistic’s Expanded Collection Programs

Artistic Waste Services offers weekly collection of trash, recycling and yardwaste that is normally generated by single family homes. Occasionally, our residential customers have special disposal needs that include items that they’re not sure how to throw away. Artistic’s expanded collection programs can help you dispose of these items in an environmentally safe and cost effective way.

How Do You Arrange for these Services?

All the programs are available weekly.
